Masterclass: Kinga Földi - Pintuck Sculptures
Kinga Földi is een textielkunstenaar die woont en werkt in Boedapest, Hongarije.
De pintuck-naaitechniek, die vaak wordt gebruikt in volkskunst en traditionele kostuums, is uitgegroeid tot het kenmerkende element van haar sculpturen.
Tijdens de masterclass onthult Kinga extra processen om deze geplooide stof om te vormen tot organische vormen.
Tijdens deze driedaagse masterclass leren de deelnemers:
• hoe ze stof voorbereiden
• hoe ze pintucks naaien
• de basistechnieken voor het vormen van pintuck-stof
Deze masterclass wordt in het Engels gegeven door Kinga Foldi.
Kinga Földi is a textile artist, living and working in Budapest, Hungary.
The pin-tuck stitching technique often used in folk art and traditional costumes, has evolved into the defining element of her creations, forming the intricate scales of her sculptures.
During the masterclass Kinga reveals additional processes for transforming this pleated fabric into organic shapes.
During the three days masterclass the participants will learn:
• how to prepare the fabric
• sew the pin-tucks
• the basic techniques of shaping the pin-tucked fabric
